Monty is a golden retriever. His owners asked me to paint him for their daughter as a Christmas present.

They gave me a lovely photograph to work from and I always think to myself that he has a very soulful look in this painting!

I love painting golden retrievers as their long hair has so much  texture and flow which is perfect for oil paints
